Meetings
The Davenport Radio Amateur Club (DRAC) is a regional group promoting Amateur Radio activities in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities & surrounding area. DRAC is a non-profit corporation registered with the State of Iowa.
DRAC meets on the third Monday of each month in the The Bettendorf Library, 2950 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf, Ia, @- 7:ØØ PM. The meeting consists of old & new club business and occassionally a program. All are welcome at these meetings, neither membership nor amateur radio license is required..
D.R.A.C. Board meetings are held the Third Monday of each month at 6:3Ø PM.
Membership
The Davenport Radio Amateur Club invites anyone with an interest in
amateur radio or public service to join our club. Dues are $1Ø.ØØ a year.

The D.R.A.C. actively participates in the Federal Communications Commission
Volunteer Examiner Program (VEC) for amateur licensing. Exams are held the fourth
Sunday of every odd numbered month. For further information and scheduling, contact

Voice Repeaters
The Davenport Radio Amateur Club supports voice repeaters
in Southeastern Iowa. The club's VHF/UHF Committee, lead by Terry Nixon WBØVQP D.R.A.C. Trustee,
is responsible for installation, maintenance, and operation of
the system. The D.R.A.C. Voice Repeaters are open to any properly licensed
amateur radio operator.
These are the primary D.R.A.C. voice repeaters currently in operation:
146.34/94 MHz - (WØBXR)
The club's 146.34/.94 repeater is back on the air from a new location. The machine was reactived a few weeks ago atop the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the campus of St. Ambrose University in Davenport. It will be connected to other repeaters in the state via the Iowa Communication Network (ICN) fiber network.
146.28/88 MHz - (WØBXR)
146.04/64 MHz - (WØBXR) (autopatch - club members only)
The club's 146.04/.64 repeater is available via Echolink Node # 155942. This is made
possible via KE9ER and a broadband connection to the Internet.
146.10/70 MHz - (WØBXR) (autopatch - club members only)
On repeaters with autopatch capability, emergency communications is
available by club members.
Scholarships
Since 1995, the Davenport Radio Amateur Club has supported scholarship
endowments for worthy students currently licensed and club members.
Public Service Activities
The D.R.A.C. actively supports the Scott County Division of Disaster Services,
and The National Weather Service, also
providing communications and logistics support for
a number of events throughout the year, including the Fourth of July Fire Cracker
Foot Race, the The Bix at Six Training Runs
, the The Bix Seven Road Race, and numerous
other events. If you're interested in providing communications assistance for
any of these and many other activities, contact any club officer.
